meet sadiemarie

Hi my name is Sadie, I am now in day seven or my recovery from Leg amputation.  I am a 16 week old chocolate lab, who lives in the mountains of the eastern sierra. ( California) If you know of web sites helpful links or just want to fallow along with my recovery please do. My pack is great I have a mom who loves me tons and a dad who likes to do things outside, oh ya, I also have a big dog in our pack, his name is Gunner. Gunner is a nine year old black lab who is actually my real dad, but I think he forgot 😛

I am doing so well my family is having a hard time keeping me quiet, I hope this does not go on too long, I really want to get out there and play!!!

  3. Hi and Welcome to Tripawds Sadie! You are a very beautiful girl! Please tell us the story of why you had to have an amputation. I really hope your recovery is going ok. Let us know if you have any questions. Hoping your recovery is smooth and super quick so you can get back to doing all of those fun puppy things.

    1. Thank you we are glad to have found all the loving owners here. I suffer a fa from about 4-5 feet landed awkwardly and broke my knee joint in several places. It could not be repaired without me suffering many years of limping and pain. My leg was amputated last Monday Feb 10th

  4. Can sypathise with trying to keep her calm its damm near impossible isn’t it? Kayla was 13 weeks when she lost her front leg in a injury very similar to Sadie and we certainly had our hands full!!! I posted in your one on the forums too with a bit more info. Good luck 🙂

  5. Sadie,
Welcome. We look forward to hearing about your recovery.

My Sparky has been a tripawd for 4 years. He’s doing beautifully and you will, too. We walk every day, sometimes as much as two miles. Pretty soon you will be able to run and jump and play just as much as you always did. Promise. Luck!

You are super lucky to be joining us for an injury instead of nasty cancer! You’ll be fully recovered and able to lead a long, healthy life, and you’ll be kicking butt on three legs in no time at all!

  7. Dear Sadie –

TriLabs are awesome! I’m so glad you have a Big Dog to hang out with you. I was a little older when I lost my leg so I knew when to rest but I think you are going to do GREAT and the big secret is that you are going to get lots and lots and lots of extra attention which you will like.
